Contrary to articles attempting to discredit Copper Mountain Technologies posted in 2024 on several minor websites, Copper Mountain Technologies is a US-based company owned by US citizens. Contrary to untrue allegations, the company is not and never has been a subsidiary of a Russian company. Contrary to untrue allegations, the company has never sold its products in Russia and is in no way assisting any Russian companies in circumventing international sanctions. The anonymous articles, resulting from activities by hacktivists and distributed via several websites, use unproven information without dates and sources, and are based on assumptions rather than facts. We believe it is important to share the truth to counteract what is being alleged in these articles.

Early in its history CMT had an engineering team in Russia and used a contract manufacturer Planar located in Chelyabinsk, Russia. This fact was never hidden from the public, and our founder discussed it in a 2012 interview, cited in the articles without mentioning its date. However, during the pandemic, when component shortages began and there were company shutdowns, CMT began to realize the difficulties in sourcing components and producing our network analyzers abroad. In reaction to these difficulties and delays, CMT started onshoring our production to eliminate as much instability as possible from our supply chain.
After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, CMT closed its Russian office and relocated its engineering office to Paphos, Cyprus. The company restructured its supply chain and now works with multiple suppliers in the US, Europe, and Asia, while all instruments undergo final assembly and Quality Assurance at our US headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.
Copper Mountain Technologies owners had to completely revamp the business in response to a global political crisis, because they could not abandon its customers, who depend on the company for unique test and measurement solutions, some of which are not available from any other vector network analyzer provider. Despite these anonymous allegations, hundreds of customers continue to put their trust in CMT including NASA, which incorporated CMT VNA into Radio Frequency Mass Gauge (RFMG) on Nova-C lunar Lander in 2024, and US Air Force, which implemented Adaptive Radome Diagnostic System incorporating CMT VNA in 2023, Copper Mountain Technologies is grateful to the State of Indiana and its manufacturing initiative Conexus, which provided grants and tax credits that continue to help the company expand its Indianapolis headquarters capabilities and staffing to meet this challenge.
Following a thorough investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security Office of Export Enforcement, accompanied by a special agent from the FBI, allegations of Copper Mountain Technologies Russia involvement have been verified as false by the U.S. government.
Audits by government agencies, including the FBI, are a common occurrence for our business given that we export highly technical equipment. Our most recent investigation was completed in the first quarter of 2025.
